Fairmined Licensed Brand
A Fairmined licensed brand is a company—such as a jewelry designer, luxury house, coin mint, or bank—that has signed an official license agreement with the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) to use and market products made with certified Fairmined gold or silver.
Certified Craft
In Belgium, “Craft Certified” is an official, legal designation for artisans that confirms their work is based on craftsmanship, authenticity, and manual labour. This designation is awarded by the Artisans' Commission of the Federal Public Service Economy.
Fairmined Eco
Fairmined Ecological Gold (often called Fairmined Eco Gold) is a special category of certified gold extracted by artisanal and small-scale mining organizations under the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) standard.
Key Characteristics
• No Toxic Chemicals: Unlike regular Fairmined gold (which allows the safe, managed reduction of mercury and cyanide), Eco Gold is extracted and processed strictly without toxic chemicals using gravimetric (gravity-based) methods.
• Ecosystem Restoration: Mining organizations must have an active environmental management plan from the outset, including the rehabilitation and restoration of native forests and local ecosystems.
• Identical Purity: Chemically and physically, Eco Gold is identical to conventional gold or regular Fairmined gold once refined. It maintains the same durability, beauty, and karat options (from 10K to 24K).
• Traceability: It maintains strict physical chain-of-custody tracking from the certified mine to the finished piece.
